Company

BLASAU is a family company created in 1977 dedicated to the manufacture of stainless steel equipment and for more than 20 years it has been manufacturing flotation equipment for treatment plants (CAF and DAF).

BLASAU AQUA was established with the aim of supplying flotation equipment to engineering, in order to provide a service and experience in the field of wastewater treatment.

Services:

  • Consulting and sizing of flotation equipment.
  • Manufacture of equipment in AISI-304 and AISI-316 stainless steel.
  • Robust equipment with quality components.
  • Support in the start-up, if necessary.
  • Supervision and maintenance with the help of our SAT technicians.
  • Spare parts and revisions of the equipment.
CAF

The CAF flotation unit works by separating solids and fats by flotation.

The equipment is sized based on the type of water to be treated, flow rate, concentrations of solids and oils and greases.

They can treat flows from 1 m3/h to 325 m3/h.

In the aeration chamber, the Aerator sucks air from the atmosphere and introduces microbubbles that are incorporated into the flocs, modifying their density, and making them float.

A floated sludge is then formed on the surface of the tank, which is collected by a scraper system that removes it from the equipment by gravity. The scraper system is driven by a geared motor. The collection speed can be varied or even timed, depending on the sludge produced.

The clarified water is directed towards the bottom of the equipment and follows a route that favors the heavy particles to settle.

The settled sludge falls into a conical bottom that is purged punctually depending on the accumulated sludge.

In the following video we can see the main parts of the equipment and its operation.

DAF

The DAF flotation unit separates the flocs from the water by flotation, removing most of the suspended solids, oils and greases.

To do this, the team creates air microbubbles between 30 and 50 microns in size that adhere to the flocs that enter the equipment.

These microbubbles give the solid a lower density than water, which makes them float to the surface, where they are collected by a system of blades to the sludge deposit.

The heavier sludge will settle and, by gravity in small equipment or with the help of a screw conveyor, will be conducted to the drain valve.

The equipment is designed according to the needs of each application and with the design parameters, the equipment that can best clarify the water is sought.

Our equipment can treat flows from 1 m3/h to 325 m3/h.
